[Diarmuid raises an eyebrow at the other woman.]

I am not being mean. I am just remembering the poor boy you last dated. I believe he is still having nightmares about man-eating tropical flowers.

What makes you say that? Isn't a woman most beautiful when she wears radiant colors?

[Diarmuid sighs and shakes her head, looking down at the rather muted colors of her clothing. The dark green shirt and black pants aren't really all that different from what she usually wears.]

There's nothing wrong with them, but if they are bright enough they will hide the person's own radiant beauty. Why would you want to do that? Do you doubt your looks so much that you think they need outside help?

[Her grin gets bigger.]

I can outshine any colors, however bright. If anything, they bring out the roses in my cheeks.

I worry not so much for you, but for the eyes of those who see you.

[Diarmuid's mouth quirks just slightly into a smirk.]

What good is beauty if you blind all that see you?

[Diarmuid turns to gather the last of the food from the counter to set on the table. She then sits down and gestures for her friend to do the same.]

What are your plans for the date?

Oh, have him taken me to a movie. And then dinner. And then an evening walk on the beach or a ride on the Ferris wheel.

[All calculated perfectly to get the guy in the mood to kiss her.]

Are you planning on helping pay for any of this?

[Diarmuid gives Cu Chulainn a critical look and then nods at the food in front of them.]

I know how much you can eat...

Well, that depends.

[Diarmuid rests her chin in her hand.]

What if he doesn't think that's enough? If he doesn't think your pretty and nice?

[Diarmuid shrugs and chews a bite of food before answering.]

Who know? You and I both know how weird guys are when it comes to stuff like this. Even spending as much time as I did acting like one never clued me into how they think. I've decided most of them just are miss something up here.

[She taps at her head.]

Or they just don't use it all. As much as I might have loved Oscar and the others, I gave up early on trying to figure out how their brains worked. I'm probably lucky father helped me out as much as he did or else I never would have been able to fool everyone for so long.

[A pause.]

Hey, you know, you disguised yourself as a man to join the Fianna and that's why your legend has you as male. How the hell did I get labelled as a man in your time, then?

Probably because someone who you beat had a bard for a friend and he was trying to save the loser's honor or something stupid like that.

[Diarmuid plays with a carrot spear before letting it drop to her plate.]

And it was probably easier for people to believe that way as stupid as that is. It's not like there weren't other well known women warriors in your time!

[There's a beat at Cu Chulainn stares down at her bust.]

...So that's how it is?

[While she was by no means flat, her figure was still on the lithe, streamlined side.]

It's not my fault that Uathach had tits the size of her face and I didn't!

[A pause.]

[Diarmuid suddenly blushes, fighting the urge to glance down at her own chest which, honestly, is about average but still more than her friend has.]

[She drops her head into her hands.]

[For a second, Cu Chulainn debates whether or not to tell Diarmuid that she thinks her "sister's" boobs look fine as well, but finally decides against it.]

Anyway, seeing how my legend got really messed up on the first telling? I should work hard to make everyone tell it right this time around.

[A suspicious look enters Diarmuid's eyes when she lifts her head from her hands.]

And how do you plan on doing that? It's a little harder to keep track of the storytellers now.

Date enough men and get them all talking about me, of course.

Wait... What?

[Diarmuid gives Cu Chulainn an exasperated look.]

How is that going to get your story out? All that is going to do it make them think you are eas... Oh... Well, that would actually fit with your legend...

I'd challenge them all to single combat first, but that's more of Aoife's gig and men in this day and age can't handle weapons as well as they should.

[She grins.]

...Well, at least they got the important part right.

[Diarmuid is just going to look at her friend for a moment and then drop her head back into her hands.

What even... Cu Chulainn...]

[Cu Chulainn strolls over and throws an arm over Diarmuid's shoulders.]

...You know, we could always take up crimefighting as a duo too. The Lovely Angels. What do you say to that?

Why 'Angels?' It sounds so girly. Can't we be something tougher sounding? Like The Deadly Hawks?
