[She goes back to scarfing down the food.]

[She closes her eyes a moment. It's odd, but her words sound a little sad. It's not that she doesn't like taking care of people--it is what a knight does after all--but there is part of her that finally has come to the point where she wants someone to take care of her every once and a while.

And that is something she doesn't think will ever happen.]

...You ever think of getting a job as a teacher?

[If they were both here to stay, they might as well as settle into the era.]

Or even a tutor? You can teach other people how to cook, and your place would be more exciting.

I would not mind teaching. I enjoyed it back when I did it with the Fianna, but I expect this would cause problems.

[Her hand brushes by the mark under her eye.]

Besides, why should I teach cooking when I could teach people how to protect themselves?

You could wear a mask if you teach fighting. It would make you look cool and mysterious. Or so people say.

[Diarmuid laughs lightly.]

That would work, but then I probably would attract attention for a completely different reason. You know people would want to find a way to find out why I am wearing the mask and what is under it.

What about if I made wards for all of the stupids? Hide it somewhere in their gear?

[Diarmuid rests her chin in her hand.]

Can you really ward for something as vague as stupidity? I figured it would have to be something more specific.

Um...how about if they have lewd thoughts it makes them nauseous? I'm sure I can try for those sorts of wards.

Just make sure to exempt yourself from those wards or you will never be able to see me again!

[Diarmuid laughs.]

I know you. That many guys in one place training... Yep, lewd is a kind term for the kinds of things that will probably be going through your head.

[She turns around and gently yanks Diarmuid's one unruly bang.]
