[The legends might have had her sex wrong, but they didn't screw up when it came to what sex was affected by her cruse. Her true sex draws in the men. The cruse draws in the women.

Sometimes all she really wants is just to be left alone.]

[Diarmuid shakes her head.]

Don't worry about it. However, don't go making promises you can't keep. Last I knew you didn't want anything to do with the ladies.

[She sighs.]

[Diarmuid waves a dismissive hand.]

I'm a big girl and it's not like I haven't been dealing with it all my life anyway. Besides, the last thing I want is anyone bothering you because of me.

Just because you've dealt with it your whole life doesn't mean you need to deal with it forever. Or deal with it alone.

After all, I'm your friend and friends carry each other's burdens.

[She smiles a little sheepishly and ducks her head.]

I know... You just know how much I hate causing trouble for others. Sometimes...I just get tired of the looks I get from people. Especially the friends and family of those who are affected.

They shouldn't be blaming you. They should just be blaming the curse. After all, it's an curse.

They have always blamed me and probably always will blame me. I don't like it, but I don't see it changing.

[Diarmuid sighs and shakes her head.]

It's easier to blame a person than a curse anyway.

[A sad look enters her eyes.]

It will always be easier to blame the person. i am going to have to deal with this...forever. It is just something I have to do.

Do you really think you can do either of those things?

[She wants to sound hopeful, but so many others have tried and failed.]

I won't stop you if want to try. It never hurts to try.

[She raises a hand to Diarmuid's face.]

[Diarmuid nods, closing her eyes for a moment and relaxing. She might not know much about how runic magic works, but she doesn't want to do anything to possibly interfere with her friend's efforts.]

[She feels the charm around Diarmuid's face and sketches her runes, trying to take it apart. However, as she works, it becomes apparent that to undo such a powerful spell would take more prana than she currently has. In the end, sh ae's covered in sweat with nothing to show for it.]

It's no good, is it? The curse is just too strong.

[Diarmuid opens her eyes as she starts to thank her friend for trying. Her expression changes to worry, though, when she sees how tired Cu Chulainn looks.]

Are you all right? You didn't use too much prana, did you?

[lancemyheart]

...I'm fine.

[She talks quickly. She's trying very, very hard not to wobble on her feet.]

[radiantface]

Sit back down before you fall.

[Diarmuid stands to help guide her friend back to her chair.]

And try to eat something. It will help.

[lancemyheart]

[She more or less collapses into a chair.]

Weren't you just cooking something? I'll wait until dinner is done.

[radiantface]

[Diarmuid pushes a few bowls toward her friend.]

This is most of it. What is still cooking is bread and dessert. Go ahead and eat your fill.

[lancemyheart]

[She licks her lips and then begins wolfing the food down. It's only when she's through with half the bowl that she looks up.]

Thanks for the food, sis!

It's nothing.

[Diarmuid waves a dismissive hand, smiling fondly at Cu Chulainn.]

I can't have my sister wasting away now, can I? Not if she has a hot date coming up.

[She shrugs.]
