[He laughs softly.]

Besides, you saved me. I should reward you...

Hmph. I didn't do any of that looking for a reward, you know.

Well, I was referring to just now, but...

[Diarmuid shrugs.]

It's a good thing you aren't expecting a reward, to be honest. I'm not quite sure how I will ever repay you for all of that other stuff, though, I have to admit sometimes it's fun thinking about what I could do.

Hm...you could try a kiss and I might call it even.

Only one? I think you are selling yourself short.

[Diarmuid sits up and then leans in close to Waver's face.]

How about one kiss now and an IOU for as many as you want later?

I should think those to be more than acceptable terms.

Excellent. There is a reason I so enjoy being in love with such an intelligent man.

[And, then, before Waver can argue, Diarmuid leans forward to give him that well deserved kiss.]

[Smart as he was, it looked like Waver still hadn't managed to quite learn to get rid of his awkwardness; he hesitated a second or two before putting his arms around Diarmuid's shoulders and returning it.]

[Fortunately for Waver, Diarmuid likes that awkwardness. He would be sad if it ever went away completely. Once Waver's arms settle around him, Diarmuid lets his own wrap around Waver's waist. When he breaks the kiss a few moments later, he drops a quicker kiss onto Waver's nose before sitting back.]

Hopefully, that was acceptable. I would hate for you to be disappointed in your reward.

You make it damn hard to be disappointed, you know.

That's good, because I really don't like disappointing people...

[Diarmuid grins.]

None at all, of course. [Waver leaned his head on Diarmuid's shoulder, with a small but content smile.] So it's a good thing you can't disappoint me.

[Diarmuid shifts slightly to let Waver lean against him more if he wants. As he does so, a book nearby catches his eyes and he reaches out with one hand to pick it up.]

Waver...tell me this book isn't really titled Magical Defenses Against Chickens...

[He'll just be grabbing that and throwing it over his shoulder. What book? No book here. Nope.]

Right...of course. I just misread it.

[Diarmuid smirks to himself, trying to hold back his laughter.]

It obviously said Dark Magic with Chickens. Totally different...

[Diarmuid picks up another book.]

Totally doesn't say Cooking with Rodents of Unusual Size...

But the titles are so interesting! And I'm suppose to be helping you clean this room out, after all.

[Diarmuid starts reaching toward another book.]

Where did you find all of these anyway? I doubt you can find them in a normal bookstore...

[Diarmuid leaves the book lay for the moment and instead reaches back to poke Waver in the shoulder.]
