Edit: Closing this one out for now. Please put all new threads here! Thanks! Fifth verse same as the first... It's new 'Call Me Out" Time!
【the ❝CALL ME OUT❞ meme】 V a roleplay meme to inspire muses.
♛ refer to the list above for active muses. ♛ post "calling" one of them out — you can do so by putting their name journal in the subject line! (I have too many Lancers to just go by name! X.x ) ♛ can be informal/formal/comment spam/crosscanon/explicit/whatever tickles your fancy! ♛ feel free to make up a scenario at the start, or wait to see where things go.
Will you speak plain English and make sense?! I don't understand a single thing you're saying!
[Waver took half a step back, worried despite his aggravated tone. If Lancer was making as much sense as everything else here, Waver was aware he was in some serious trouble.]
[Diarmuid holds out a finger both in an attempt to calm Waver down and to give himself a moment to think of the best way to explain. Finally, he crouches down so he can better look the magus in the eyes.]
[Waver took a deep breath to sttempt (and mostly fail) to calm himself down. That was a strange request, but if Lancer was asking...there couldn't be any harm in it, could there?]
[A little hesitantly, Waver held out his right hand.]
[Diarmuid takes it, his thumb passing lightly over the inactive command spells.]
They should be active, shouldn't they? But they aren't. There is a good reason for that. Second magic. I'm not your Lancer. I wish I could tell you he's here, but he's not. He's...gone. Just like the rest of your world is gone. Just like mine is gone. This doesn't lie.
[He motions to the command spells again.]
Nor do I. I might have been summoned by a different master in my war, but I promise you, that hasn't changed.
[Diarmuid wants to put a hand on Waver's shoulder to calm him, but he's afraid the boy might run away if he does.]
We are going to find a way to fix this. You will go back to him and you will finish what you began. If you can believe in nothing else, please, try to believe in me. I might not be your Lancer, but I would never do anything to hurt you. This I swear.
[He puts his hand over his heart and bows his head.]
[Waver visibly flinched, inching back in an automatic reaction.]
Lancer...? [This didn't sound like him at all. Waver's view of Lancer was that he was hesitant, softspoken and cautious--talking to the magus like this was something he couldn't even clearly imagine.]
[Diarmuid sighs, shutting his eyes a moment and then nodding. When he speaks again, he is much calmer sounding.]
I'm sorry. I just...do not like hearing you doubt yourself when you have done nothing wrong. Not now and not in the future. Your course is right. Wherever it leads you in the end...it is right.
Th-there you go again, talking absolute nonsense at me! [Waver faltered uncomfortably for a moment or two, face colored by a faint touch of scarlet.] Don't you realize I have no idea what you're on about?!
[Waver turned even paler at the question, for just a moment swaying on the spot as though he'd suddenly become lightheaded.]
It's been--I don't know, a few days? W-we were just...e-er...just...scouting. [He lowered his head again, pressing a hand to his face as though trying very hard to block something out.By all appearances, Waver looked as though he'd come down sick in record time.]
Wait...since when is a little murderhound in one's inbox a BAD thing? :-P
[Most would worry about that sudden ill look, but instead of seeming worried, Diarmuid instead looks sad. He has a good idea what 'scouting' means in this context.]
You just found Caster's workshop, didn't you? I'm sorry...
No...you aren't, but I can't say that I blame you.
[Diarmuid takes a deep breath thinking back to what he knows of the sight that greeted his Waver in that workshop. He's seen a lot of terrible things in this place, but he doesn't think any of it will ever come close to that.
And he hadn't even seen it in person...]
There is someone you should probably talk to once you settle down a little. I think...it might help.
[Though, he can't help but let his smirk widen a little. He had a feeling that was going to be Waver's reaction. Big Waver or small, he can't help but tease.]
If I say this place practically runs on second magic, will it help? I wasn't kidding when I mentioned it before. It brings people from many different universes here. Different times too. The person I speak of is a version of you who summoned a Lancer in the war--not Rider as my version of you did--and comes from a time 10 years after the war ended.
I...never really thought about it in great detail. But could Second Magic really be present in such a capacity? You're telling me there's actually another of myself from the future?
And you say I...summoned Rider? That seems strange to think about.
There is a lot about this place that should be impossible and yet is possible. There being a version of you from the future is only the mildest of impossibles made possible that I could tell you about.
But yes, he is here and I am sure he would like to talk to you at some point in the not too distant future. He seems rather protective of other version of you who is in the Tower. He is one of the versions of you who summoned a Rider instead of a Lancer. Actually, you and my pa-
[He very quickly cuts himself off and starts again.]
...the older version of you are the odd balls in a way. In most versions of the 4th war, you always summon Rider. I thought it a universal constant until I met him.

[Diarmuid's eyes suddenly go wide and his face pales. Then he drops his head into his hands, and, surprisingly enough, laughs again.]
It looks like we have another new one. At least this one isn't female and my sister. That was just...strange.

You just arrived didn't you?
[He holds out his hand.]
May I have your hand? Your right one.

This can't be real. You're...he's not-... [He clutched his right hand tightly, shaking his head and trying to process this.]

I really shouldn't have gotten involved in the war at all. If I hadn't, maybe this never would have happened.
no subject
[The word is sharper than it should be, but Diarmuid cannot help it.]
Never wish that. What you did had nothing to do with what happened to your world. You are not to blame!

Lancer...? [This didn't sound like him at all. Waver's view of Lancer was that he was hesitant, softspoken and cautious--talking to the magus like this was something he couldn't even clearly imagine.]

How far into the war are you?
i'm bad at this

[Scowling, Waver folded his arms.]
Somebody I should talk to...? Who?

[Diarmuid can't help but smirk slightly. How many times has he heard that? Just from a deeper voice.]
Would you believe me if I said yourself about ten years down the road?

I don't think you really want me to answer that for you...
