Edit: Closing this one out for now. Please put all new threads here! Thanks! Fifth verse same as the first... It's new 'Call Me Out" Time!
【the ❝CALL ME OUT❞ meme】 V a roleplay meme to inspire muses.
♛ refer to the list above for active muses. ♛ post "calling" one of them out — you can do so by putting their name journal in the subject line! (I have too many Lancers to just go by name! X.x ) ♛ can be informal/formal/comment spam/crosscanon/explicit/whatever tickles your fancy! ♛ feel free to make up a scenario at the start, or wait to see where things go.
Would you like me to see you to the cafeteria? There are two routes--the stairs and the elevator. Both take a fair bit of time...
[Unless, of course, Waver lets himself be carried, but Diarmuid's isn't going to suggest that and risk upsetting the boy. Not after he has been brave enough to reach out again.]
...and it would be a waste to travel it in silence. There are a lot of things I could tell you. Or... [Diarmuid can't help but let a smile pull at the corner of his mouth.]
.,,I can just go with you and keep my mouth shut for a while. Whichever you prefer. There is nothing wrong with silence, after all.
As you wish. [Diarmuid smile widens slightly, and then he motions down the hallway.]
The elevators are a floor away. This way, if you would. Since we are going to the cafeteria, why don't I tell you about what constitutes food around here...
O-okay. [Waver followed Diarmuid closely, and after a few steps reached out and rested a hand on the knight's forearm. Whatever his reasoning, Waver didn't seem to think much of it; he looked far too on edge to really consider what he was doing.]
[When he feels the gentle touch, Diarmuid is torn between letting it pass uncommented on in cause it upsets Waver and saying something just in case the boy actually needs something. Finally, he decides to be cautious. This might be a version of his Waver, but he's certainly not him.
He pauses in his description of the nutrition bars and the glamour used to hide them and looks down at the magus beside him.]
[Although Waver had been listening, his mind had started on some level to wander. When his attention was called back into reality, he jerked his hand back sharply like it had just been burned.]
[Diarmuid almost scolds him for reacting that way, but in the end, just gives him a gentle smile instead. For a moment, his hand reaches out to give Waver's shoulder a reassuring squeeze.]
My mistake. Shall we continue?
[His hand drops away and then he starts walking again, talking once more about how the glamour gives things taste and appearance.]
[Falling back into silence with his hands in his pockets, it wasn't long before Waver's attention drifted once more. His entire world was really dead? It wasn't as if there was anyone he'd actively mourn for. No one had ever given a damn about Waver Velvet, just...]
[This was all wrong, wasn't it? Waver turned the small broken boar's tusk over and over in his hand, as if reminding himself it was still there. This wasn't the Lancer he'd summoned. None of this was the same, it wasn't right, it wasn't fair--!]
[Quietly, Waver brought up his free hand to rub at his eyes and hope Lancer didn't notice. Stupid Servant. He'd just worry, wouldn't he?]
[Of course, he will worry. It's what he does, but this time he will worry in silence or, at least, in as much silence as a man rambling about fake food and illusions of taste can. Still, it will give Waver time to settle down and try to process everything he has been told. In fact, Diarmuid doesn't act like he has noticed anything until they finally reach the elevator and he pushes the button to call it. Then, he pauses from his ramble and speaks softly.]
Don't worry. We'll get him back for you. I promise.
Yes, you can. You are stronger than you think you are.
[Diarmuid continues watching for the elevator, letting Waver have his distance for the moment.]
Besides, you aren't alone. I don't know why you keep thinking that, but no one here is alone unless they make a conscious effort to be. We are all fighting for the same thing. There is no reason not to help each other.
I-I don't need anyone else! [Waver shook his head quickly.] I should be able to get by just fine on my own. If I can't, then...then I'm just weak, aren't I?
Honestly? [Diarmuid looks at Waver out of the corner of his eye.]
I have always felt that those who realize they cannot do everything alone and are willing accept the aid of others are stronger than those who foolishly insist that they have to stand alone.

[Shaking his head quickly, Waver tried to clear out any uncertainty in his voice.]
Let's just get out of here.

[He looked away, folding his arms and trying to withdraw even if only slightly.]
...I can't handle this. There might not even be anything I can do without-...I mean, on my own I'm not...

Situations change and people have to change with them or else they won't survive. It's that simple.

Idiot. Do you really think me or your elder self are going to let something happen to you? Just do us a favor. Try to learn.
