No, the only way that they can be seen is through the power of belief. That is stronger than even the strongest of my magic.

[Diarmuid reaches out and ruffles the boy's hair.]

Cheer up. You believe, don't you? Perhaps one or more of them will as well and they can be the ones to convince the others.

[He indeed cheers up.]

Yeah, I bet at least one of them can see your wings! And you can let them touch your wings too! That way they'll all know.

[Diarmuid wishes things were that easy, but he knows they are not. The power of disbelief is just as strong as belief and it is amazing to what lengths a disbeliever will go to prove their view is right. Of course, believers can be just as stubborn.]

We will have to see. Anyway, we will never get to the park if you do not get started eating...

I'll have to wait until Misaya wakes up anyways.

[He takes another big bite of the food.]

I don't know if she'll wanna come along, though.

[Diarmuid slides a piece of bacon off a plate to eat as he listens to Setanta.]

Just because they tease her or for some other reason?

Yeah, that. And she thinks they're stupid and smelly. Sometimes they can play together, but that's usually if she's leading the game.

[In other words, making the boys into her horses and slaves...]

[Yes, Diarmuid can guess what kind of games she probably plays with them. He hasn't interacted as much with Setanta's sister as he has with the boy, but she is rather...bossy.]

Well, she is at that age where boys and girls don't tend to get along that well and if they are picking on her for things on top of that I understand why she would rather stay at home. I don't know that I would want to deal with that either when I would just rather have fun.

...Hey, have you ever had fun like a human kid before, Mr. Der-mood? If you haven't, I can show you how to go down a slide or climb a jungle gym or swing up high on a swing!

[He pauses as a very brief memory of himself as a child sitting on his father's knee flashes across his memory.]

Not as a child in these times would. Do you mind showing me those things?

Of course! I'll even push you on the swing! You'll go so high you think you're flying!

[Diarmuid can't help but smile at how excited the boy seems.]

I will look forward to that. What other things can you teach me that children do to have fun?

How about hopscotch? Or tag? Or you can ride in a wagon and I can pull you with my bicycle!

I think I might be a little big to ride in a wagon now.

[Diarmuid laughs.]

But perhaps we can try those other things. They sound like fun.

[Setanta joins in the laughter.]

I'll show you everything once we get to the park.

[Diarmuid laughingly salutes the boy.]

Then you best start getting that food put into your belly or else the things you want to watch will be all over by the time you are done.

[He starts wolfing down his food quickly. So quickly, in fact, that he chokes and ends up gagging.]

[Immediately, Diarmuid is up out of his chair and at the boy's side. He gently pats the boy's back and works a bit of magic to dislodge the food. The magic use is draining, especially in his wounded form, but that is not something he even thinks about. He is more worried about Setanta.]

Easy, take a deep breath now. You should be okay. It is not good to eat quite that fast!

[beforetights]

[He coughs, then swallows. He's thankful that the food is no longer stuck in there.]

I'm okay, Mr. Der-mood.

[He picks at his food.]

But I really wanna go out to play.

Okay...

[He's relieved the boy seems to be okay, though the loss of appetite does worry him some.]

If you are sure you are feeling up to it... Do you want to go and ask your sister if she wants to come? I can leave some food for her if she decides she wants to stay here and do something else while we are gone.

[beforetights]

[He winces.]

She'll hit me if I wake her up early. Let's just wait for her to come down.

As you wish.

[Diarmuid smiles. Children.]

Do you want to go and watch your cartoons, then? It will help pass the time more quickly.

[beforetights]

Oh yeah, sure.

[He grabs his plate so he can go sit in front of the television.]

You can come watch with me. I'll tell you what's going on.

[Diarmuid nods and motions for the boy to head into the other room.]

Go on and get settled. I will join you in just a moment once I have covered everything here so it will be safe until your sister is ready for it.

[beforetights]

[Cu Chulainn turns on the television just in time for the sound of a cartoon theme song to sound.]

Hurry, it's about to start!

[Diarmuid laughs gently at the boy's impatience as he covers the last of the food. He then walks into the other room and sits down near Setanta.]

I hope you are really ready to tell me all about them. I have never watched anything like this before. I have no idea what will be going on.
