Well, in that case I think I would make a very good steed.

[Diarmuid suddenly bows.]

Does Master Hero want to ride down the slide again?

[beforetights]

[He nods eagerly.]

And my steed will catch me again!

[He runs over to the slide to go down again.]

Yes he will!

[Diarmuid moves back to the base of the slide to wait for Setanta to come down it again.]

Whenever you are ready, Master Hero!

[beforetights]

Whee!

[He goes down the slide again.]

[Like before, when Setanta gets to the end of the slide, Diarmuid catches him. Instead of 'attacking' him this time, though, he spins him around in a circle a few times before setting him down.]

How was that? Did I do good Master Hero?

[beforetights]

Yes, you did very well. I like it when you spin me.

[He falls silent for a second.]

Can you pick me up and spin me without me sliding down this time?

Sure!

[Diarmuid picks the boy up and gets ready to spin him again.]

Get ready! Here we go!

[And then he starts spinning the boy around.]

[beforetights]

[He laughs loudly as he's being spun.]

Faster! Faster!

[His uncle certainly never played with him like this. Neither did his father. He never knew how fun it was until now.]

As you wish!

[Diarmuid tightens his grip on the boy to make sure he doesn't slip and spins him faster. He's happy to see the boy is enjoying the game so much.]

[beforetights]

[He lets Diarmuid spin him for many more circles before he starts feeling dizzy.]

Stop! Stop!

[Nevertheless, the smile on his face shows that dizzy as he may be, he enjoys this.]

[Diarmuid had been watching for the boy to get dizzy so as soon as he says to stop, he does. He carefully sets the boy down on his feet, but doesn't let go so that he won't fall.]

Got a little dizzy, hu? But it is still fun, isn't it?

Oh yes, it's very fun! I've never played a game like this before!

Really?

[It's a very basic game. One Diarmuid figures all normal children should have played many times, but then again, there isn't really much normal about Setanta's home life.]

I am glad to be able to introduce it to you. Do you want to go again?

[beforetights]

Yes, please!

[A pause.]

After you take your turn on the slide, of course. Because I haven't caught you yet.

Are you sure? I don't mind spinning you more first.

[Diarmuid gives Setanta a gentle smile.]

The slide isn't going anywhere. I can wait.

[beforetights]

Hm...

[Diarmuid's offer is tempting. So tempting, in fact, that he can't resist.]

Alright then. Spin me! Spin me!

At once, Master Hero!

[Diarmuid laughs before taking a hold of the boy's hands again and starting to spin him. He will continue to do so until Setanta lets him know he wants to stop.]

[beforetights]

[Setanta shrieks in delight as he's whirled around again. After a while, he calls out to Diarmuid.]

Stop now! Stop now!

[Diarmuid laughs and stops when Setanta asks him to, but instead of immediately setting the boy down on his feet, he gathers him into his arms.]

Once you aren't dizzy anymore, there is another game I can show you. Have you been tossed up in the air before?

[beforetights]

[His eyes go wide and he shakes his head.]

No, I've never been tossed before. I wanna try!

[Diarmuid nods. He's not surprised that the boy hasn't played this game since he hadn't played the other either.]

It's a really easy game. All you have to do is enjoy the fall and the view when I toss you up in the air. Don't worry. I will always catch you! I won't let you get hurt.

Are you ready to try?

[beforetights]

Of course I'm ready!

[He grins, waiting for Diarmuid to toss him.]

Okay, here we go!

[Diarmuid gives the boy one more moment to get ready and then tosses him high up into the air. The toss is probably higher than a normal man could throw a child, but Diarmuid isn't exactly normal either.

He watches carefully, waiting to catch the boy as he comes back down.]

[beforetights]

[He shrieks, giggle, and flails as he comes down. Never once does he doubt that Diarmuid would be able to catch him.]

[His faith is well placed as Diarmuid would die himself before letting Setanta be hurt. He easily catches him and gives him a wide grin one he does.]
