Oh yeah, sure.

[He grabs his plate so he can go sit in front of the television.]

You can come watch with me. I'll tell you what's going on.

[Diarmuid nods and motions for the boy to head into the other room.]

Go on and get settled. I will join you in just a moment once I have covered everything here so it will be safe until your sister is ready for it.

[Cu Chulainn turns on the television just in time for the sound of a cartoon theme song to sound.]

Hurry, it's about to start!

[Diarmuid laughs gently at the boy's impatience as he covers the last of the food. He then walks into the other room and sits down near Setanta.]

I hope you are really ready to tell me all about them. I have never watched anything like this before. I have no idea what will be going on.

[beforetights]

I think you'll like this one. It's called Power Rangers and it's all about heroes fighting for justice!

[And on the screen, one can see a multitude of "villains" in obvious rubber makeup discussing some nefarious plan.]

[Diarmuid watches the screen with a confused look on his face.]

None of them look very heroic.

[What is with those rubber suits?]

Oh, those are the villains. They're planning on being EVIL right now. See how they're talking about the bad things they'll do?

[And on screen, the main villain is scheming about how to attack the town by using special socks to cause extreme foot odor back enough to knock people out.]

*dies laughing* The sad part is, I can totally see that being the plot of a Power Rangers Epi...

[Diarmuid listens to the plan the villains are hatching and tries very hard not to laugh. Do they seriously think something like that will work? Seriously?]

Please tell me the heroes are smarter than these guys are...

Don't worry! They'll beat the bad guys and their evil socks.

[Meanwhile, the action on the screen cuts to one of the Power Rangers, in civilian form, buying one of the cursed socks.]

Oh no! He bought the socks!

Are the good guys allowed to fall prey to the bad guys' plans?

[Diarmuid gives Setanta a confused look.]

Or will his friends save him?

[beforetights]

Of course they will! Because they're friends!

[Meanwhile, people are falling prey left and right to foot odor.]

And yeah, sometimes the bad guys have very convincing plans.

I'm not sure if it is convincing or if it's just dumb luck...

[Diarmuid's confusion doesn't seem like it is going to be going anywhere anytime soon.]

Hey! They are fighting now...

Yes, they are.

[The Ranges, of course, are at a disadvantage because of their own foot odor.]

Oh no! Mr. Der-mood, how do you think they can cure the stinky feet?

I have no clue!

[Diarmuid laughs, giving up on trying to understand and just watching what is happening.]

I never had to fight anything like this when I fought Above.

[beforetights]

That's right. Angels never have anything stinky, do they?

[oathshackledbird]

[Diarmuid laughs.]

I would not say never, but it is rarer Above. After all, it is suppose to be a paradise.

[beforetights]

Really? Who was the person who made the most stinky stuff in Heaven then?

[His interest in the television show is all but gone by now.]

[Diarmuid seems to contemplate this for a while before answering.]

I don't know if I would say it was a person that left the stinky stuff, but more like events. For example, the whole area would seem depressed, dirtied, and 'stinky' so to speak whenever we had to fight something--monsters, evil spirits, whatever. Above is suppose to be a place of peace, not war and when we are forced to fight it leaves things unsettled and 'stinky.'

[He nods.]

So everything becomes stinky when you fight the monsters. That's very mean of them. To attack heaven and mess things up.

[oathshackledbird]

To put it simply, yes, but that is what they live for...the monsters. Like it was my job to fight them, it was their job to try and ruin things Above.

[Diarmuid frowns slightly.]

Of course, it seems it's not only the monsters we should have been watching out for...

[beforetights]

You mean, like the people who blamed you for things you didn't do? Was it because they liked the monsters better? Or did the monsters put a spell on them?

I...don't know.

[Sadness and confusion fill his eyes.]

As terrible as it might be, I think they just decided they wanted to do those things themselves. The monsters had nothing to do with it.

[beforetights]

[He pouts.]

Well, that's not right. They can't call themselves the good guys or angels if they do that.

It is hard to explain. I suppose people define good in different ways and Above does try to allow for that...

[He looks ashamed suddenly.]

I guess I was not considered 'good' enough.
