...Hey, have you ever had fun like a human kid before, Mr. Der-mood? If you haven't, I can show you how to go down a slide or climb a jungle gym or swing up high on a swing!

[He pauses as a very brief memory of himself as a child sitting on his father's knee flashes across his memory.]

Not as a child in these times would. Do you mind showing me those things?

Of course! I'll even push you on the swing! You'll go so high you think you're flying!

[Diarmuid can't help but smile at how excited the boy seems.]

I will look forward to that. What other things can you teach me that children do to have fun?

How about hopscotch? Or tag? Or you can ride in a wagon and I can pull you with my bicycle!

I think I might be a little big to ride in a wagon now.

[Diarmuid laughs.]

But perhaps we can try those other things. They sound like fun.

[Setanta joins in the laughter.]

I'll show you everything once we get to the park.

[Diarmuid laughingly salutes the boy.]

Then you best start getting that food put into your belly or else the things you want to watch will be all over by the time you are done.

[He starts wolfing down his food quickly. So quickly, in fact, that he chokes and ends up gagging.]

[Immediately, Diarmuid is up out of his chair and at the boy's side. He gently pats the boy's back and works a bit of magic to dislodge the food. The magic use is draining, especially in his wounded form, but that is not something he even thinks about. He is more worried about Setanta.]

Easy, take a deep breath now. You should be okay. It is not good to eat quite that fast!

[beforetights]

[He coughs, then swallows. He's thankful that the food is no longer stuck in there.]

I'm okay, Mr. Der-mood.

[He picks at his food.]

But I really wanna go out to play.

Okay...

[He's relieved the boy seems to be okay, though the loss of appetite does worry him some.]

If you are sure you are feeling up to it... Do you want to go and ask your sister if she wants to come? I can leave some food for her if she decides she wants to stay here and do something else while we are gone.

[beforetights]

[He winces.]

She'll hit me if I wake her up early. Let's just wait for her to come down.

[Diarmuid smiles. Children.]

Do you want to go and watch your cartoons, then? It will help pass the time more quickly.

Oh yeah, sure.

[He grabs his plate so he can go sit in front of the television.]

You can come watch with me. I'll tell you what's going on.

[Diarmuid nods and motions for the boy to head into the other room.]

Go on and get settled. I will join you in just a moment once I have covered everything here so it will be safe until your sister is ready for it.

[Cu Chulainn turns on the television just in time for the sound of a cartoon theme song to sound.]

Hurry, it's about to start!

[Diarmuid laughs gently at the boy's impatience as he covers the last of the food. He then walks into the other room and sits down near Setanta.]

I hope you are really ready to tell me all about them. I have never watched anything like this before. I have no idea what will be going on.

[beforetights]

I think you'll like this one. It's called Power Rangers and it's all about heroes fighting for justice!

[And on the screen, one can see a multitude of "villains" in obvious rubber makeup discussing some nefarious plan.]

[Diarmuid watches the screen with a confused look on his face.]

None of them look very heroic.

[What is with those rubber suits?]

Oh, those are the villains. They're planning on being EVIL right now. See how they're talking about the bad things they'll do?

[And on screen, the main villain is scheming about how to attack the town by using special socks to cause extreme foot odor back enough to knock people out.]

*dies laughing* The sad part is, I can totally see that being the plot of a Power Rangers Epi...

[Diarmuid listens to the plan the villains are hatching and tries very hard not to laugh. Do they seriously think something like that will work? Seriously?]

Please tell me the heroes are smarter than these guys are...

Don't worry! They'll beat the bad guys and their evil socks.

[Meanwhile, the action on the screen cuts to one of the Power Rangers, in civilian form, buying one of the cursed socks.]

Oh no! He bought the socks!

Are the good guys allowed to fall prey to the bad guys' plans?

[Diarmuid gives Setanta a confused look.]

Or will his friends save him?

Of course they will! Because they're friends!

[Meanwhile, people are falling prey left and right to foot odor.]

And yeah, sometimes the bad guys have very convincing plans.
