[There was no way.]
I do want a child... I'd like three but that would mean I'd need to be pregnant within the next two months for even the chance. [She smiled slightly.] My parents would like more. But I'd be happy with three.
[Picking up her coffee.]
...What is your job, anyways? Not that... I'd expect you to have one. I make more than enough for you to live comfortably without working.

[Cu Chulainn reaches into one of the back pockets of his pants and fishes out his driver's license, tossing it at her. Yes, he is wearing the same shirt in the picture on it that he is now.]
See! 33 as of last month.
[He laughs.]
My brother was always sayin' I'd never make it passed 30 with my luck. Showed him.
As for work, it varies by day. I gotta group of places I go 'round to and see if they need help with anything. Fixin' stuff, making deliveries. just 'bout anything really.
no subject
[She groans, rubbing her face.]
You might not make it past forty with your attitude but we'll see.
...Mm. That's a job you could do with a child. You'd just need a nice car and maybe a nanny to help you out.
no subject
[Is he...flirting with her? Yep. He's flirting with her...]
Right now I just walk place to place. I got a license, but I don't really drive. I'd rather just take my time and enjoy the scenery. Most my jobs don't have a timetable. Long as it is done that day, it's all good.
no subject
[And she doesn't even notice.]
Right, well, if you raise kids, you might need to actually drive. Again, something I need to know before I completely dismiss you.
no subject
[Cu Chulainn can't help it. He breaks out laughing.]
Nah. Just cause you're a business woman, don't mean you gotta go callin' yourself something so derogatory. Who really cares if he's younger if you're a good team when it comes to the family stuff? Age is justa number!
Now for the driving. Didn't I just show you my license? I know the pic's good and I don't blame you for maybe wanting to see it again, but the real thing's better, you know!
[He winks at her.]
'Sides haven't you been saying this whole time I'd be takin' care of the kids? If I want 'em to walk so they don't forget how like some of these kids nowadays, what's the big deal? Nature's a great thing. You should check it out sometime if you haven't recently.

[She sighed, looking him over.]
You're pretty cheeky. Is it a wonder you're still single like me?
[Moving over to tap his nose.]
I'm just saying. You're going to want to drive occasionally. That's why you'll have a car too.
no subject
[Cu Chulainn waves his hand dismissively.]
I know how ta pick my fights when it comes to a lady. If ya insist, I ain't gonna fight it. There will be other fights.
[He snaps playfully at her finger when she pokes him.]
Gettin' frisky with me now, Lass?
no subject
[She leans over the table.]
If you want frisky, marriage first. I'm... saving myself for it.
no subject
[Cu Chulainn leans forward and then very quickly, licks her on the nose before leaning back with a laugh.]
That mean we're married now?
no subject
[Just such a straight answer, kicking him hard in the shins.]
If you want to get married to me, you have to get a suit and help me plan everything. Because we're married by the end of the month.
no subject
I didn't think this was my choice. Ain't it you who gets ta make the final call? You gonna send me packin' like the others or do I gotta figure out how the hell I'm gonna afford a monkey suit in such a short 'mount of time?
no subject
I can say I want to marry you but I can't make you marry me. And... yes, you will need to wear a tuxedo. Unless you're interested in being the one in the wedding dress... I wouldn't mind that at all.
no subject
Do I look like I got the legs to pull off a dress?
no subject
[She looks at his legs.]
I'm wearing a tuxedo. You can either wear a tuxedo and pay for it, or you wear a wedding dress and I'll pay for it.
no subject
Do ya like 'em? Ya think your parents gonna be okay with a guy in a dress? Wouldn't be the first time for me, by the way. My friends and I gotta...unique sense of humor. Got some real amusin' stories I could tell ya. Sure to make ya smile.
no subject
[She sighs and leans back.]
It's my wedding, I'm paying for it, they can deal with you being in the wedding dress. And I hope you take this seriously.
no subject
[He rolls his eyes and laughs at her next statement.]
I'm gonna be in a dress. Do ya really expect me ta take anything seriously while I'm dressed like that?
no subject
[She moves to cross her arms.]
You are going to be in a dress and you are going to not do anything to embarrass me or make me look stupid or I guarantee that'll be the last good night you have.
no subject
Whoa, whoa, easy there! No need ta be so stern....
[He winks at her and then laughs.]
So, since I'm gonna be in the dress, do I get ta pick the colors for the wedding? 'Cause, ya know, I think I deserve ta get ta do that at least.
no subject
[She sighs a bit.]
I don't even get to pick the colors. Pretty much all that's under my control is what you wear and what I wear.
no subject
You wanna pick 'em that much? I ain't gonna take that 'way from you then. Just...try an' remember to pick somethin' that won't clash too much with this mop.
[Cu Chulainn gives his ponytail a playful pull and shake.]
An' don't put me in white. Definitely don't wanna see this lug in white...
no subject
[She sighs.]
My only choices are what you and I wear. I don't get to pick the colors. They'd be red and black if I did.
[She sighs.]
It's a wedding for my parents sake.
no subject
[He gives her a serious look.]
Don't ya think it's time to stop that? It's your wedding no matter why it's happenin'.
[Cu Chulainn leans forward over the table so he's closer to her.]
A wedding's a new start on life. Pick the colors. If ya parents don't like it, they can deal. They don't wanna deal? We can do find a preacher on our own. They ain't hard to find. If they want any part of this wedding of yours, they best let you have this.
One step ta break free. Ya don't really wanna live like this forever, do ya?
no subject
...Not anymore.]
Cancel any plans. We're eloping immediately.
[She stood up and moved over. Grabbing his shoulder.]
Followed by a long and well deserved honeymoon. Any complaints will be ignored until we get there.
