[She sighs and leans forward.]

I can say I want to marry you but I can't make you marry me. And... yes, you will need to wear a tuxedo. Unless you're interested in being the one in the wedding dress... I wouldn't mind that at all.

[Cu Chulainn is silent for a moment before breaking out into a fit of helpless laughter. Once he finally finishes--and it takes a while--he props a leg up on the table.]

Do I look like I got the legs to pull off a dress?

...Let me rephrase that.

[She looks at his legs.]

I'm wearing a tuxedo. You can either wear a tuxedo and pay for it, or you wear a wedding dress and I'll pay for it.

[Cu Chulainn laughs, running a hand over one of his legs before dropping them back down and resting his chin in one hand to look at her.]

Do ya like 'em? Ya think your parents gonna be okay with a guy in a dress? Wouldn't be the first time for me, by the way. My friends and I gotta...unique sense of humor. Got some real amusin' stories I could tell ya. Sure to make ya smile.

They're fine. They're legs... what more do you want from me?

[She sighs and leans back.]

It's my wedding, I'm paying for it, they can deal with you being in the wedding dress. And I hope you take this seriously.

I'm gonna have to teach ya how ta take the time ta enjoy some of the finer things, ain't I? Guess that's not such a bad thing...

[He rolls his eyes and laughs at her next statement.]

I'm gonna be in a dress. Do ya really expect me ta take anything seriously while I'm dressed like that?

[She moves to cross her arms.]

You are going to be in a dress and you are going to not do anything to embarrass me or make me look stupid or I guarantee that'll be the last good night you have.

[Cu Chulainn throws up his hands defensively.]

Whoa, whoa, easy there! No need ta be so stern....

[He winks at her and then laughs.]

So, since I'm gonna be in the dress, do I get ta pick the colors for the wedding? 'Cause, ya know, I think I deserve ta get ta do that at least.

We'll see about that.

[She sighs a bit.]

I don't even get to pick the colors. Pretty much all that's under my control is what you wear and what I wear.

[A serious look suddenly crosses his face.]

You wanna pick 'em that much? I ain't gonna take that 'way from you then. Just...try an' remember to pick somethin' that won't clash too much with this mop.

[Cu Chulainn gives his ponytail a playful pull and shake.]

An' don't put me in white. Definitely don't wanna see this lug in white...

I don't think you understood me... or even tried to.

[She sighs.]

My only choices are what you and I wear. I don't get to pick the colors. They'd be red and black if I did.

[She sighs.]

It's a wedding for my parents sake.

No, I do understand. They make demands of you. You make demands of me.

[He gives her a serious look.]

Don't ya think it's time to stop that? It's your wedding no matter why it's happenin'.

[Cu Chulainn leans forward over the table so he's closer to her.]

A wedding's a new start on life. Pick the colors. If ya parents don't like it, they can deal. They don't wanna deal? We can do find a preacher on our own. They ain't hard to find. If they want any part of this wedding of yours, they best let you have this.

One step ta break free. Ya don't really wanna live like this forever, do ya?

[...Maybe he had a point. Despite how much she cared for her parents, they did things their way and expected her to do the same.

...Not anymore.]

Cancel any plans. We're eloping immediately.

[She stood up and moved over. Grabbing his shoulder.]

Followed by a long and well deserved honeymoon. Any complaints will be ignored until we get there.

[Cu Chulainn laughs, letting her pull him along.]

That your way of sayin' I pass? Long as you're sure and ya ain't gonna change your mind, I ain't gonna complain. I sure don't mind surprises. They keep things interestin'!

[He chuckles.]

Does that mean we're tryin' for baby number one tonight?

Few men would ever suggest I go against my parents. You'll keep things interesting.

[There's a limo waiting outside with a driver holding the door open.]

...If you're willing to be patient and slow. Remember. You are my first time.

[His eyes twinkle when he sees the limo, though after admiring it for a moment, Cu Chulainn turns a surprisingly serious look at her.]

Look, I may be a lotta things, but when I take care of a person, I take care of 'em. Ain't no fun if the person you're with ain't enjoyin' it just as much as you are. It'll be good. I promise. An' once I know you a little better, I'll see 'bout makin' it a lot more than just good.

...Before you worry about making it good, let's make sure we take care of the main issue.

[Which was a child. She moved past him and got into the limo, making sure he got in too.]

Make it decent, at the least. Good isn't even on my radar yet.

Ya keep insistin' that 'work' and fun gotta be separate.

[Cu Chulainn shakes his head as he settles into the limo next to her.]

Seriously, gettin' the job done can be fun an' feel good too. I promise!

I'm less concerned about it being fun.

[She looks at him and pushes him down in the seat as they begin to drive off.]

If it's fun, then fine. I'll go along with it. But it's not a main priority.

I really gotta change those priories...

[As she pushes him down, Cu Chulainn reaches over and pulls her into his lap.]

Want me to start those lessons now? Ain't like we got anythin' else goin' on at the moment!

[She grumbles and pushes his head away, climbing off of his lap.]

I think not. You'll wait.

[Cu Chulainn laughs, but doesn't try to force her to stay. In all honesty, he had expected such a reaction.]

Well, they say good things come to those who wait. Waitin' won't be a bad thing. Just a borin' one. So now what? How ya gonna keep me distracted while we drive? Can't promise I'll be good long if I get too bored...

[And as if to prove his point, his hand inches its way across the seat to her leg.]

[He did have a good point. So he had to distract him in the best way possible.]

...Our honeymoon will be on the beach, what kind of swimsuit should I wear?

[That hand touches her, he won't have it after that.]

[Fortunately for Cu Chulainn, her question causes him to pull his hand back so he can prop his elbow on his knee and his chin in his hand.]

Don't suppose there's a chance it'll be a nude beach, hu?

[He shrugs, not bothering to wait for an answer.]

One or two piece. It don't matter. Just pick what ya think makes ya look good. Your honeymoon, your choice. You're making your own decisions now, remember? I don't really know ya well enough to blind guess what would look good on ya. 'Sides, it won't matter much if ya don't feel comfortable in it. Confidence is the important thing.
