[He holds a hand out to Berserker.]
Come on. I'll hold on to you so you won't get lost.
no subject
A slight smile crosses his face and he takes Flatt's hand, careful not to hurt him with his claws.]
Yes, lets go...
time skip?
Time Skip Away!
At the moment, he's waiting for Flatt to get back from class so they can go and do something. He's not sure what, but his brother had said they should go out and do things. Berserker wanted to go out with Diarmuid and see these things, but he also understands that his brother has responsibilities he must attend to.
It's how it always was back home and still Diarmuid had always found time for him. He knows his brother will do so now too just so long as he is patient.
So, right now he waits and idly sorts through one of the many piles that are in Flatt's room. Who knows what he will find today?]
no subject
[As he opens his door and finds Berserker digging through his stuff, he panics.]
H-hey! Be careful! You might find something bad!
[Even though Berserker looks grown-up, he's a little kid inside! Several nightmarish scenarios of his Servant getting his hands on porn run through Flatt's mind.]
no subject
[Berserker's voice is curious and every bit as childish as Flatt had just thought of him being.]
I want to see what it is. Is it an animal? Does it need help? Is it your pet? What is it?
no subject
[He hurries over to the pile and starts throwing aside clothes and crumpling up any pieces of paper that might have pornographic images on them.]
Uh...that means it's sort of a pet and sort of not.
[As layers of junk are removed, a grunting sound can be heard from deep inside the remaining pile.]
no subject
So like a hunting hound? They can be treated like pets, but they aren't really...
[He tilts his head curiously when he hears the grunting sound.]
What...is it? Should I help you? Oh...
[His expression saddens as he looks at his clawed hands.]
I probably shouldn't. I might hurt it.
no subject
[He quickly shakes his head.]
Uh...your claws aren't a problem. I just...ah...have lots of stuff, so I was afraid you'd hurt yourself.
no subject
Thank you. I don't think there is anything in here that can hurt me, but if you wish me to wait I will. How much longer until you find it? It sounds like it's nearby now...
no subject
[He's cut off as a spinning tortoise shell shoots out of the pile, whacking him in the face before bouncing off, landing on the floor, and spinning a few times. The animal's head, tail, and legs emerge after the spinning stops.]
no subject
[Berserker jumps to his feet, for a moment thinking they are under attack. However, when he sees the turtle, he relaxes, reaching down to pick the creature up so he can look at it.]
A turtle? Why did it attack you?
no subject
[He laughs nervously.]
And now I've got no use for it.
no subject
[Though his voice is sharp, Berserker is looking down at the turtle with sad eyes, almost as if he feels some kind of kinship with it since he had been killed because he wasn't good enough in Donn's eyes to be treated the same as his brother was. He holds the animal close to him--or at least as close as he can considering it's a wiggling turtle he doesn't want to hurt.]
Just because he can't do what you want him to doesn't mean he should be discarded...
no subject
...Do you like him? If you do, I could give him to you. And he could be used as your pet.
no subject
[Just that quick, all the sharpness is gone from his voice, replaced by childish hope. Gently and carefully, Berserker strokes the turtle's head with one of his clawed fingers. Surprisingly enough, the turtle doesn't seem frightened or aggressive. It's almost as if it knows the child-like servant means him no harm.]
Does he have a name?
no subject
Uh...actually, no. I think I wanted to name him something when I first made him, but now I've forgotten.
no subject
[Berserker holds up the turtle so he can look at it closer. However, the only names he can really think of are his brother's and his father's, neither of which fit the reptile.]
Do you have some suggestions?
no subject
[He scratches his head.]
Nestor?
...And next time we see your brother, remind me to ask him to give you a new name. Before Professor Velvet throws me out the window again, that is.
no subject
[Berserker tilts his head at the turtle. As he does, the turtle bobs its head almost as if it is saying 'yes.']
I think he likes that name. He will be Nestor.
[He gently strokes the turtle on the head once more and then sets it free to wander the floor again.]
My brother...doesn't wish to give me a new name. He wants to find my old one. My real one. It has to be somewhere...
[It had hurt to find out that not even his brother knew his name, but Berserker could not blame Diarmuid for that. Aengus had been the one to mess with his memory, and he would not trade knowing his name for his brother's sanity.
Madness...is not suited for one such as his Little Hawk.]
no subject
Isn't it a little sad, though? It's not like you like not having a name, is it? Just let him find something to call you by. Until you can find your name again.
no subject
No, I don't like not having a name, but won't picking a new one make it harder to find the old one? Brother is always right...
[He frowns in confusion.]
Isn't he?
no subject
no subject
I...don't know. He was always right as a child. Maybe your teacher would know?
no subject
[He reaches out to grab Berserker's hand.]
Hey, stop that. You're hurting your hands.
