[Berserker's hands twist together. Despite the fact that he is looking at his hands, he doesn't seem to realize he's scratching himself with his claws.]

I...don't know. He was always right as a child. Maybe your teacher would know?

[He reaches out to grab Berserker's hand.]

Hey, stop that. You're hurting your hands.

What?

[His eyes actually seem to focus on his hands now, and when he sees what he has does, a surprised look crosses his face.]

Oh... I didn't even feel it... Sorry...

[After spending so long lost to madness, most of Berserker's senses are dulled. It's one of the few ways that his Mad Enhancement actually shows itself in this form.]

...It's a good thing you've got me looking out for you then. Do you want a healing spell to fix up that hand?

It doesn't hurt...

[Even so, he holds out his wounded hand to Flatt.]

But you probably should. I will be more careful next time...

[He chants a few quick spells, knitting his Servant's flesh back together.]

There! Quick and clean.

[He gives Berserker's hand a quick pat.]

[Berserker holds up his hand, looking at the newly healed skin.]

My brother's...partner. Was he the one who taught you?

Yeah! He's taught me the most and stayed with me the longest out of any professor I've ever had. Most of them usually quit after a month or two. Maybe even just a week.

Why do they quit so quickly?

[A puzzled look crosses his face as he lets his hand drop back into his lap.]

Teachers are not suppose to give up on their students. Good teachers find a way to work through problems. They don't just give up...

I guess they were busy with family things. I mean, they're all magi, so stuff comes up all the time. Professor Velvet is the only one who doesn't have a family.

Students are a kind of family too...

[Berserker shakes his head, not sure why this is important to him. However, before he can think about it too hard, he is distracted by Flatt's next statement.]

He has my brother... They are family now. I can tell that.

[How much he likes or doesn't like that is a completely different story.]

Huh...then that means you're his family too, doesn't it?

I-I guess so.

[It seems weird for him to consider anyone but his brother family.]

What about you? Do you have any family?

Of course. They're just all back home in Greece. I'm staying here in England until I graduate. I guess I can see them for holidays, but they're not very fun.

Oh...then you are lucky.

[Berserker doesn't seem sure how to react to that answer. Perhaps somehow, he thought Flatt might not have a family to just like the rest of them.]

Why aren't they much fun?

Uh...well, they're serious a lot of the time. Really busy too. Keep on telling me that there's things magi can't do.

[He sighs.]

It's just a little stifling. That's all.

Why do they tell you what to do so much?

[Berserker's uncertainty shifts into straight out confusion.]

You are an adult now. Should you not be trusted to make your own choices, good or bad? How can you learn if you don't?

[He shrugs.]

I don't know. Maybe they don't think I'm an adult yet? Do I look more like a kid or an adult to you?

[The statement is direct, without any confusion.]

Doesn't that make you an adult?

...Yeah, it does! Too bad Professor Velvet says I can't tell very many people about you.

My brother says I should stay unseen as well...

[Berserker would be upset about this, except he knows that his brother doesn't want him to stay hidden because he thinks him weak. It is because of other things. Other things the child-like servant doesn't understand completely.]

But at least we can spend time with each other and them.

...I should ask Professor Velvet if we can all go to the park together or something next weekend. Help me persuade him, alright?

[An uncertain look crosses Bererker's face.]

I don't know if I will be much good at persuading him, but I will ask my brother. He will be good to have on our side, right?

Yep! He's the only one Professor Velvet listens to anyway, so it would be more than good to have him on our side.
