He was made to be a weapon and he doesn't listen to me all that much...so I don't think there's any other way besides scaring him.

Can...I try talking to him? Maybe he will listen to me?

[After all, Berserker's not exactly human. He lived longer as a boar than he did a child. Maybe he will be able to reach another animal where someone who has been human all their life cannot.]

You don't need to literally speak turtle to speak to him. There are other ways. My father was a druid, after all. Let me try when we return from our walk.

Woah, what, really? Cool! So if he was a druid, did he know other tricks than just talking to animals?

He knew many many 'tricks' as you say. There is a reason my lessons started so young. It takes a very long time to learn all there is to learn about being a druid.

[Berserker pauses a moment and then shakes his head.]

Actually, you can never fully learn everything. A true druid never stops learning.

People say that about magi too. But they also say that the knowledge a magus can gather in his lifetime is limited, and so that's why crests exist.

[He mutters, looking contemplative. He almost wants to prove them wrong and find some way to grasp everything. But at the same time, the intense study that most magi seemed to go for wasn't attractive for him at all.]

That is why a true druid never stops learning. There is a limit to what one may learn, but that limit is removed once they die and return. They need only to begin anew once they walk the world again.

[They are his father's words, not his own. Berserker isn't sure if he even understands them completely, but for some reason they put him at ease even if he doesn't completely understand.]

...Did your druids really know how preserve the state of the soul and reincarnate completely? That's so cool! Did he ever tell you how to do it?

[Berserker frowns and shakes his head.]

I...don't know. He didn't get to teach me much and there is so much I have forgotten...

[It's frightening when he thinks about it--how little of himself remains after being the mad beast for so long.]

Well, forget it. We're gonna get to see the Holy Grail, at least. I don't think that's something even druids had.

No...I do not believe so.

[Berserker is silent for a long time before asking softly.]

Do you know what you want to wish for on the Grail, Master?

...Nope! I just wanna see the Grail. I'll let you have first dibs on the wish.

But...my wish was to find my brother. I already have found him. I...don't really have another wish...

[Berserker supposes he could wish for some way for the four of them to get to stay together forever, but somehow it seems selfish to want more when his first wish has been fulfilled.]

...Well, I'm not sure what we'll do then. Maybe we should hurry up and think of some wishes! Like...a ton of ice cream?

A...ton of ice cream? Won't it melt before we eat it?

[He seems confused by how impractical the wish seems.]

What if we ask if we can all stay together one this is over? Me and you and my brother and his partner?

Yeah, sure. That counts as a good wish.

[It's a little plain, but he's the one who promised to give Berserker his wish.]

Should I pick something else? I...really don't know how to pick a good wish.

[Wishes are just suppose to be things that you want, right?]

[He reaches to pat Berserker on the head.]

Well...if I wish for that and you wish for the ice cream, maybe between the four of us we can eat it before it all melts...

Hey, wait, I'm a magus! I can just use magic to keep it from melting!

Can you really do that?

[Berserker gives him an impressed look.]

That would help a lot! But where would you keep that much ice cream?

Of course I can! It would be easy. And as for where to keep it...Maybe Professor Velvet has space?
