Edit: This post is now closed. Please start new all new threads here. Eighth verse same as the first... It's new 'Call Me Out" Time!
【the ❝CALL ME OUT❞ meme】 VIII a roleplay meme to inspire muses.
♛ refer to the list above for active muses. ♛ post "calling" one of them out — you can do so by putting their name journal in the subject line! (I have too many Lancers to just go by name! X.x ) ♛ can be informal/formal/comment spam/crosscanon/explicit/whatever tickles your fancy! ♛ feel free to make up a scenario at the start, or wait to see where things go.
The silence drags on and there's a flutter of something sharp and hopeful in his chest, something that twists his insides into knots and leaves his throat painfully dry. Anticipation and tension sing through the air for a moment.
And then it's gone, broken and dismissed and Gladio can only nod as his Master goes to finsh getting ready. He slumps against the counter as soon as Ignis has stepped out of the room, breath rushing out of him and he silently curses himself for getting his hopes up all over again. How long had they worked together and Ignis had never.
"Idiot!"
Right... sandwiches. Bagel, sausage, egg, tomato, cheese, mayo. Lettuce for Iggy but not for him. Two sandwiches each, wrapped in paper towels and tucked into a baggie so they can eat in the car.
Only once he is alone in his room beginning to dress for the day does Ignis allow a frown to appear on his face. The silence that followed him out of the kitchen was unusual for Gladio. There should have been a joke, a tease, something other than silence. Had he teased too much? Too little? He's never been good at this kind of thing and it's even harder when the person he's doing it with is his guardian.
Bloody hell, there are people out there who wouldn't even consider Gladio a person and then there are others who push themselves on their pets viewing them not as people for a completely different reason. How is he suppose to know how far is too far in a case like this? It's not like he can just go and ask someone.
Well, Ignis supposes he could ask Gladio, but what if it makes his guardian uncomfortable? What if he's misread things so badly that Gladio decides he doesn't want to be his guardian any longer? What if...
Ignis sighs, removing his glasses for a moment so he can run his hand over his face. It makes something twist painfully in his chest to consider Gladio leaving him, but unlike some people if that is what his guardian wanted, he would do his best to help him find someone else to serve.
Maybe he can ask when they go to the cabin. They would be away from the world there and if the worst did happen, they would have time to take care of what needed to be done without anyone from the company sticking their noses into things, then afterward he could burying himself in his work like he always does to forget pain.
Ignis allows himself one more sigh before sliding his glasses back on and quickly finishing dressing. By the time he's done, he's managed to push his conflicted emotions to the back of his mind and put his work face back on.

Just in time to run out the door.
