Edit: Closing this one out for now. Please put all new threads here! Thanks! Fifth verse same as the first... It's new 'Call Me Out" Time!
【the ❝CALL ME OUT❞ meme】 V a roleplay meme to inspire muses.
♛ refer to the list above for active muses. ♛ post "calling" one of them out — you can do so by putting their name journal in the subject line! (I have too many Lancers to just go by name! X.x ) ♛ can be informal/formal/comment spam/crosscanon/explicit/whatever tickles your fancy! ♛ feel free to make up a scenario at the start, or wait to see where things go.
Unfortunately, there are many floors between here and the Laboratory floor.
[Diarmuid grins at his double.]
Fortunately, with our speed it will take a very short time if we take the stairs.
[He motions toward said stairs as he speaks. Even if his powers aren't back at full yet and the other Lancer will likely be faster than he is, the stairs will still be quicker than the elevator.]
[That conflicted look makes Diarmuid's grin become something more gentle.]
You need to see him, so that you can see what I tell you is the truth. There is no reason to put off the meeting. Besides, after all that has happened recently, it will be good for him to see a familiar face.
[Sure, said familiar face will bring complications, but they are ones they will be happy to deal with. After all, this double arriving is better than say a double of Caster or his master appearing in the Tower...]
[Diarmuid gives Lancer's shoulder a reassuring squeeze and then turns and takes off down the hallway at a quick, though nowhere near normal servant, pace.]
Are you sure that you're alright? [Lancer didn't have any trouble keeping up; if anything, he had to slow down to keep pace with his alternate self.] This seems a little slow for us.
[Diarmuid bows his head slightly, thinking on his answer.]
All right...is a relative term in this place. I am in the process of getting my real powers back. Unfortunately, the process takes a while and I am in the middle of it. As a result, I only have access to some of the abilities I usually have. I have my senses and resistances back now, thank goodness, but I am still without my full speed or the ability to call Gae Dearg. It's a frustrating place to be.
[Diarmuid nods, hand dropping to the top of the one at his waist.]
They aren't magical, you are correct. Waver made them for me and I carry them so that I always have some weapon on me. There are places and monsters in the Tower that can take away our powers and that means no summoned weapons. It is never good to be completely without weapons in this place.

You have not be replaced. Stop that!
no subject
Ow--stop that! And how exactly am I not meant to feel as though someone's merely taken my place with him?
no subject
[Diarmuid gives Lancer a stern look.]
If you cannot take my word for it, then at least prove yourself not to be a liar and trust his.
no subject
I trust my Master absolutely. But I also trust in myself to manage to disappoint him.
no subject
[A knowing look enters Diarmuid's eyes.]
Tell me once when you have disappointed him.
no subject
I don't--
[Lancer actually took half a step back, glancing around nervously.]
How could I be anything more than a disappointment?
no subject
[His eyes narrow slightly.]
I know my mind and I know how it thinks. You can't give me an example, can you? Because you haven't. You just think you have.
no subject
I...just because he's not said as much doesn't mean I haven't...
no subject
We will just ask him when we get to the Laboratory. Where you won't believe me, I know you will believe him...
[Eventually. After hearing it about a millions times... he adds to himself.]
no subject
[Lancer paused in his steps, hesitating for a moment before starting to follow Diarmuid again.]
Is it...is it much farther? Even if they are not the same as you say, I should like to confirm my Master yet lives in at least one way.
no subject
[Diarmuid grins at his double.]
Fortunately, with our speed it will take a very short time if we take the stairs.
[He motions toward said stairs as he speaks. Even if his powers aren't back at full yet and the other Lancer will likely be faster than he is, the stairs will still be quicker than the elevator.]
If you will follow me?
no subject
[Lancer hesitated again, as though he couldn't make up his mind on whether he really wanted to see Waver or not.]
I...y-yes. Of course.
no subject

...If you think that it will help him, then of course I will go along. Please, lead the way.

Is that why you were using those swords? There didn't seem to be anything magical about them from what I could tell.
no subject
They aren't magical, you are correct. Waver made them for me and I carry them so that I always have some weapon on me. There are places and monsters in the Tower that can take away our powers and that means no summoned weapons. It is never good to be completely without weapons in this place.

...I see. He truly is undeservedly kind to us.
no subject
[Diarmuid's expression becomes guilty for a moment and then he brushes it off as well as he can.]
I am sure he will make you a set as well if you would like so that you have something to fall back on. Just ask him.
no subject
I would not wish to trouble him for anything.
no subject
[Diarmuid shakes his head.]
He knows you better than you think he does. Sometimes, I think he knows me better than I do.
my excuse that time is i wasn't wearing my glasses
Perhaps he just has experience in dealing with us.
Uh hu...right. Whatever you say... :-P
[Diarmuid laughs softly.]
I like to think for the better, but he is the one who has had to put up with us so much. We should ask him, don't you think?
[And try for one of those famous Waver overreactions to a question. It's been a while...]
YEAH WELL IT'S GONNA BE INTENTIONAL SHORTLY
LOL!
