They bought them not long ago. They take good care of them, and I am not sure who gets into the most mischief.

The simple answer to that? All of the above. If it's not one, it is the other.

[A distant look suddenly fills Diarmuid's eyes.]

It is good he is getting this chance to just be a child...

[He nodded sadly] It is, though he misses his family a lot.

[oathshackledbird]

[This statement doesn't seem to surprise Diarmuid in the slightest.]

He would as Father will be missing him. Father watched me every day of my life. He will stop at nothing to try and find a way to get him back once he realizes he is gone.

"Yes, though apparently time or peoples perception of it seems to be frozen. He went home for a year and was only gone from the city for three days, and I do not believe he had ever been missing at home."

Really?

[Diarmuid blinks in surprise.]

Whoever is drawing you there much have a very great amount of power. Very few would know how to and also have the skill needed to do such a thing.

[He nodded] Indeed, they were powerful enough to pull me from the place I was before.

The place you were before? Yes, you mentioned you weren't on your home world before you were taken there.

[A questioning look enters Diarmuid's eyes.]

What was that world like? Was it worse than were you are now?

[swordofzero]

It was not as bad as the place you live now. It was a city, one that also needed energy to survive, but we had to battle each other with weapons drawn from out chests, from our souls according to some.

[Diarmuid raises a hand to rest it over his heart.]

Drawn from your chest? Suddenly, I don't feel so bad about being in the Tower. That would bring back memories I would rather not have to think about on a constant basis...

You were stabbed [There is only one conclusion he can draw from that, and he doesn't like it.]

[Unconsciously, Diarmuid's hand flexes over his heart.]

You...could say that.

[Stabbed. Forced to stab himself. It's all the same, right?]

[Suzaku stepped closer, reaching out to Diarmuid's shoulder, though it was strange to reach up and not down] I'm sorry.

Thank you, but please, don't worry. There is nothing that can be done for it now and so lingering on it is just a waste of energy.

[Diarmuid looks back at Suzaku and smiles slightly.]

That kind of world would force me to linger on it instead of moving on. I have to say, I am glad I am not there.

[swordofzero]

You are wise. [Suzaku dropped his hand] I am glad you did not have to be there either.

[Diarmuid shakes his head.]

I just speak the truth. I am far from wise. I still have too much to learn. Maybe someday, but not today.

[Suzaku nodded] The other me is lucky to have you around.

[oathshackledbird]

I think you have that backward. I am the one who is lucky to have him. He has done much for me. Forgiven much too...

[swordofzero]

I am sure you have forgiven much too. [After all if he claimed him as a friend, if he knew anything about Suzaku then he was a very forgiving person]

[oathshackledbird]

I have, but I'm not the one who needs to forgive him.

[Diarmuid gives Suzaku a pointed look.]

He is the one who needs to forgive himself.

[swordofzero]

He's done unforgivable things.

[oathshackledbird]

Perhaps, but he also recognizes that and is working as hard as he can to make up for it. That makes him a lot different from those who do such things and never realize what they have done or try to fix it.

[swordofzero]

I guess, but I doubt he will be able to make up for it, he has done things that are impossible to fix.

[oathshackledbird]

You two really are the same.

[Diarmuid shakes his head.]

It is true. There are some things that cannot be fixed, but that doesn't mean that the person responsible can't work to make up for what they did. As long as they keep trying--even if their attempts go astray--then, someday, forgiveness will be found.

I would suppose we would be. [He blinked at the words, not sure what to say to them] You are very optimistic.
