Perhaps, but he also recognizes that and is working as hard as he can to make up for it. That makes him a lot different from those who do such things and never realize what they have done or try to fix it.

I guess, but I doubt he will be able to make up for it, he has done things that are impossible to fix.

[Diarmuid shakes his head.]

It is true. There are some things that cannot be fixed, but that doesn't mean that the person responsible can't work to make up for what they did. As long as they keep trying--even if their attempts go astray--then, someday, forgiveness will be found.

I would suppose we would be. [He blinked at the words, not sure what to say to them] You are very optimistic.

Not as optimistic as I used to be, but I do try to keep looking to the positive side of things. Someone needs to so that the rest don't lose their way...

It...is hard sometimes. Especially in the Tower.

I can imagine. It does not seem like the kind of place where positivity is easy.

It's not unless you count being positive that the Administrators will always do their best to hurt and abuse us and, somehow, I don't think you do.

[He shakes his head.]

That just makes it all the more amazing that hope and optimism can still survive there.

It does. I am glad there is still hope, despite everything. It makes me feel guilty about despairing, when I am nowhere as bad.

Don't be guilty. No matter how terrible or how wonderful the place we are is, that doesn't change the fact that we have been pulled away from the life we were living before leaving things unfinished. It is only natural for most people to want to return to that as soon as they can.

"That's true. There was a lot I had to finish at home."

He feels the same way, so I understand even if I don't feel the same way. My circumstances are different.

[Diarmuid looks around the area they are standing it.]

I wonder what this place is that it was able to pull us from where we were like this. Do you think it will send us back at some point or will we have to find our own way back?

[Diarmuid might not have anything left for him on his world, but he certainly has things waiting for him back at the Tower.]

I don't know [He looked around] We should go and find out, see if there is anyone who can give us answers.

If nothing else, explore a little. Together, though. I don't know if it is a good idea to do so alone. There is too much we don't know about this place.

Yes, splitting up would be a bad idea. [He looks around] Let's go and find out where we are. [Or at least get some clues.]
