[Though, considering this old wreck of a house, it's likely any phones have long been disconnected.]

[Diarmuid actually has to smile at that as he starts searching the room they are in for a phone. He has little hope of finding one that works, but he's still going to try.]

Do you really think he will listen to you? Be honest. You just want to yell at him for how he treats me...

Why not? It'll be good for him. Learn there's stuff that he can't mess with.

[Diarmuid shakes his head, expression regretful.]

I am usually optimistic about these kinds of things, but...

[Diarmuid can't help but laugh at that.]

[She grins.]

Pretty much! Until your Master pays the ransom I demands, you're mine!

And just want are you going to do with me while you wait in vain for him to pay your demands? It might be a while...

Oh, there's plenty of things. I'm sure Irisviel wouldn't mind.

[Kiritsugu might, but screw Kiritsugu.]

For one thing, you can help carry her shopping bags.

[Diarmuid chuckles, for a moment seeming to have forgotten he's suppose to be looking for a phone.]

Oh? Does Lady Irisviel shop a lot?

When she takes me out exploring, yeah.

[She gets a soft, gentle look on her face.]

Lady Irisviel...we're very similar. Neither of us know much about humanity. She's curious about everything, and she wants to have everything around to play with.

[Diarmuid is surprised to see such a gentle look on Saber's face. He has to admit, though, he is happy to see it there.]

It is good that you two have each other to learn things with. Exploring and learning is so much more fun when you have someone to learn with. Do you two have a favorite thing you have learned about so far?

I'd have to say...amusement parks. It's nice. We rode a Ferris wheel together.

What was it like?

[Perhaps Diarmuid is only asking what riding the Ferris Wheel was like, but more likely he's also asking about what it's like to have a master she can actually do things with. A master who cares about her as something other than a tool.

It's something he's not ever going to have the chance to experience. Not in this war anyway.]

It was nice. We went up high. You can see the entire city from there, you know. Wasn't as fast as the roller coaster, but it was a good place to relax and chat and eat cotton candy.

[She looks over at him and goes a little red.]

...Guessing you've never tried that, huh?

[Diarmuid shakes his head sadly.]

The only things I know about amusement parks and Ferris Wheels, I know from the Grail and that is hardly a substitute for actually experiencing them.

[He pauses a moment and then gives her a curious look.]

Is eating cotton candy really like eating sweetened air?

[penisenvy]

Yeah, it's soft and fluffy and sweet, and it melts in your mouth even as you start to feel it in there.

[She sighs.]

...I wish that we could go together to the amusement park sometime. If anything, you'd like the merry-go-round. It lets you ride these fake horses.

Fake horses? It's a shame there aren't real ones to ride.

[He laughs suddenly.]

Wouldn't it confuse Assassin and his master if we walked out of here and went to the amusement part?

Ya know, it might. Though is it morning yet? Don't think they're open at this time.

[Diarmuid peeks toward the window, though he already knows what the answer will be.]

Unfortunately, not. It's a shame. My master would not like it, but I would have liked to go.

[penisenvy]

...We don't have to fight Assassin right away. So, tell you what. Come tomorrow morning, we're going to the amusement park!

Are you suggesting we just wait here until morning?

[Diarmuid seems surprised, though almost hopeful. The hope soon fades.]

I would like to, but if we are not going to fight Assassin and it's safe, I should return to my master. He is going to be very angry as it is...

Perhaps you can take Lady Irisviel in my stead?
