[Diarmuid reaches out to put a hand on his brother's weapons stilling them.]

Everyone learns at their own rate and when they are meant to learn. Rushing will only lead to disaster.

Then I want my rate to be faster.

[He pouts and goes through the moves again, but this time, they're even more off.]

Stop.

[It is only one word, but it is sharp and harsh.]

If you are going to be like this, then we are done for today. You will learn no more.

[He stops and scowls.]

Why?

Look at that swing.

[Diarmuid motions toward the incorrectly angled weapons.]

It is almost worse than the very first time you did it. You are rushing and upset. All you will learn like this is bad patterns and incorrect forms.

Fine, fine. I won't be upset anymore.

[He goes through the motions, slower this time. He's still irritated, but his brother's disapproving look makes him try to check his own temper.]

Thank you, brother.

[The movements still aren't quite back to what they were, but they are much better now. Still, Diarmuid can tell his brother isn't happy. The teacher and warrior in him is fine with this since the boy needs to learn. The brother...isn't so comfortable with it.]

I'm sorry.

[beforetights]

[He pauses in repeating his moves and looks over to Diarmuid.]

It's fine. You're teaching me, and you're the more experienced knight. You know better than I do.

I know and this is very important, though, not so much fun.

[He gives a knowing smile to his brother.]

It will get better.

[He practices the attack move a few times, and then changes back to the defense move he had been practicing earlier. This time, his balance is better, but his angles are off again, especially since he has no one to defend against.]

Do you want to practice that against me?

[Diarmuid has been quietly watching him practice, hoping that will help him work out his irritation, but it's hard to practice blocks, especially chained ones, without someone else.]

[beforetights]

Yeah, I wanna do that.

[He holds his swords up.]

Come on, bro!

[Diarmuid nods, glad to see his brother happier.]

As you wish!

[He then launches into an attack structured so that his brother can practice the block he has been working on so hard.]

[Cu Chulainn raises his swords to block, making sure to keep his angles close to how Diarmuid originally showed him.]

Good! Just keep that second blade up a little more and you will have it!

[Diarmuid steps back and prepares to attack again.]
