[Diarmuid just hopes the stuck up jerk that is her master doesn't decide this is some kind of attack or something.]

Look far out into the distance and tell me what you see!

Hm...I see the forest!

[She turns her head.]

And the seat! And the city, at a distance! I see a lot of stuff!

[Diarmuid peers out at the horizon making a mental note of his Master's base which can just barely be seen from here.]

What is the best thing you can see?

Ah...I'd say the big building over there!

[She points at one of the skyscrapers.]

It's so shiny! And so clear! Like someone carved it out of crystal!

I have not been into one of those buildings yet.

[Though, the hotel that is his master's base is somewhat similar. At least, on the outside.]

They are quite fantastic, aren't they?

[He turns to look at her the best he can with her on his back.]

And just think of how far you could see from the top of one of those...

I've been to one of those shopping malls. The shops are just stacked one on top of the other. It was amazing. There were so many things.

...And I bet you can see the entire world if you stood on one of those! They're so high up in the sky!

A shopping mall, hu? Did you go with your Lady?

[Diarmuid looks back out over the city.]

Will you tell me more about what it's like? I highly doubt I will have the chance to visit one.

Yes, I went with Lady Irisviel. It was a good trip. Everything was very shiny and clean on the inside, and there were shops for just about everything man-made. From clothing to modern gadgets. There's a weapons shop too, but they don't seem to sell swords or spears. And all the doors spin!

[She rests her face against his back.]

I don't know if you'd like a place like that, but Lady Irisviel bought everyone a lot of clothes there! And she bought a lot of soaps and little toys too!

It sounds like a very fun trip. You are lucky you got to go. Was there something she got for you that you liked more than everything else?

[Diarmuid smiles softly when he feels her head rest against his back and he can't help but wonder if she's getting tired.]

A favorite piece of clothing or a favorite toy?

Mm...my boots! I wish I could show you them now! They're good boots. Made of leather too. Perfectly for riding modern vehicles with!

[She yawns. It's another foreign sensation, being tired after so little movement.]

I am sure you will have a chance to show me later. For now, it sounds like you are getting tired. Do you wish to take a nap? I will watch over you, if you would like.

Are you sure? It might take up too much of your time...

If my master wishes me to return, I will know it through our bond.

[He turns his head toward her again.]

Until then, I am in no rush to return. If you happen to still be sleeping when I have to go, I will wake you and see you inside before hand.

[She slowly nods.]

Thank you then, Lancer. And it applies to my Master too. If he wishes for us to part, I'll wake up and poke you about it.

You are welcome. Now, do you wish to stay up here, or would you rather go back to ground level?

...The ground, I guess. It would be easier for you to go back to your Master's house without getting found, wouldn't it? Miss Maiya might be watching the roof.

Perhaps. The ground it is then. Hold on. We can go and sit under the tree over there. How does that sound?

[He doesn't mention that even Miss Maiya wouldn't be able to follow him at speed and in spirit form. Instead, Diarmuid makes sure she is secure and leaps gracefully off the rooftop, landing near the tree he had pointed out earlier.]

Whee!

[She laughs again as Diarmuid descends.]

This was a good idea! Put me down now.

[Diarmuid smiles and kneels down so that she can crawl off his back.]

I am very glad you enjoyed yourself. Piggyback rides are something all children should have a lot of.

[She gives a light giggle as she hops off of his back.]

Then come back and give me lots of piggy back rides. Until I become grown-up again.

[He smiles at her, though, there is sadness in his eyes since he is pretty sure it's not going to be allowed.]

Are you going to take your nap now?

[Diarmuid frowns, though thankfully she won't be able to see it with her eyes closed. He knows there is no way he will be able to stay that long no matter how much he might rather stay here.]
