There is a lot going on here and things do change very quickly. Let me start with that.

It's okay. There are other roles that can be filled. Will you tell me where your talents do lie? That way I can give you the information most relevant to your skills first.

Well, fighting. I can still Trace weapons but I'm not as good as it as I used to be. Getting used to a different body's circuits is hard.

[Diarmuid gives Shirou a confused look.]

I apologize, but I don't know what that means.

Reproduce them, basically. Learn their structure and then project another copy of them.

Project? Out of thin air?

[It is unfortunate that while Diarmuid did meet the Archer who was once Emiya Shirou, he never got a chance to see the man use his power and so has no idea how said power works. All he can think of is summoning a weapon, but that is completely different from creating one.]

[Explaining Nasuverse magic is not a job for Emiya Shirou.]

That is a...unique ability.

[In fact, Diarmuid has never heard of a magi with such an ability before. Granted, he knows of very few magi. Perhaps Waver would know better.]

However, it also seems like a useful ability to have. You are never unarmed that way.

I've done pretty well with it so far. But it's not working as well for me now...

I haven't tried it since I showed up a few hours ago.

I am not sure on that since I have only been here a year myself, but...

[He pauses a moment to sort through his memories.]

If I am remembering right, I know of at least one person who has been here for too close to three years.

That's terrible!

[Three years is a long time to be in a horrortower.]

It is, but at the same time, I prefer not to think of it that way.

[Diarmuid gestures with one hand as if he is trying to think of the best way to explain. In the end, he just goes with the simplest.]

Even though it has been that long, they are still sane and still fighting. They have grown stronger instead of being broken and that is a good thing.

...I guess so, but I still don't want to be stuck that long.

[Diarmuid winces, almost as if he has been struck.]

[Diarmuid shakes his head. He hates having to be the one to tell Shirou this, but it also doesn't seem right to keep it a secret either.]

Unfortunately, all of us here have a limited time in which to fix our worlds and find a way to go home. The Tower will run out of power in June, and we will die not long after if we are still here.

So, sadly, you needn't worry about being stuck here for years...

...Oh. Yeah. That's a problem... I feel stupid for saying that.
