I implied no such thing. However, figuring something out and being able to say it out loud are two different things.

[Diarmuid nods, but doesn't say anything. Instead, he moves slightly between Waver's legs so that he can reach up and pull his friend close.]

Well, I would suggest not using coffee for one. I usually don't drink it so I am going to be suspicious right away if you offer me some.

[Diarmuid pauses a moment, giving this whole thing way too much thought really.]

I would guess you would need a dose much higher than that for a human and even then it would probably only incapacitate, not kill. You would have to finish them off when they were helpless...

Sorry. Sorry. I guess I stopped thinking so much about you poisoning me and more about if we actually had to do that in a war. Not that I would want to, but...

[But if it came down to keeping Waver alive, Diarmuid would gladly throw away his honor again. He'd done it more than once before for someone undeserving. He wouldn't think twice about doing it for one whose deserved it more than anyone.]

I know. I'm not saying I wouldn't, either. Let me worry about that kind of thing, I'm used to being a little less than chivalrous with my particular tactics.

I know this is all hypothetical, but I would do it if I had to. I would do anything I had to if it meant saving you.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that. I don't want you to have to compromise anything for my sake.

I will hope that it doesn't, but if it ever does, I will do as I must. I have sacrificed much more for much less. I have no problems sacrificing everything for you.

I really hope it doesn't come to that, though. I prefer being at your side, not separated from it.
