Edit: This post is now closed. Please put all new threads here! Sixth verse same as the first... It's new 'Call Me Out" Time!
【the ❝CALL ME OUT❞ meme】 VI a roleplay meme to inspire muses.
♛ refer to the list above for active muses. ♛ post "calling" one of them out — you can do so by putting their name journal in the subject line! (I have too many Lancers to just go by name! X.x ) ♛ can be informal/formal/comment spam/crosscanon/explicit/whatever tickles your fancy! ♛ feel free to make up a scenario at the start, or wait to see where things go.
[Eventually, the stars had to align just right for everything to fall into place. The Grail was properly dismantled and eradicated, Waver and Rin having avoided a Sealing Designation by inches due to Ismene's own political maneuvering, and things had finally settled down.]
[However, as was his habit, Waver hardly stopped to rest at all. The following semester he spent long days and longer nights rewriting and revising his thesis criticizing the importance placed on a mage's bloodline. Having always been as dedicated to it as he'd been about the Grail, Waver turned all but obsessive over it.]
[One day he came home later in the evening than usual, closing the apartment door behind him and leaning back against it.]
Diarmuid...are you here? [Sounding almost distracted, he called out in a quiet voice.] I'm home.
[The smell of food lingers in the air, but it is obvious whatever was made was made a while ago and has long since been put away. Diarmuid himself is laying on the couch wearing a dark green t-shirt and jeans instead of his usual armor. As Waver comes in, he looks up from the book he has been reading. No big surprise, it's a book on exploring modern day Ireland.]
I was starting to think you were going to sleep at the office again. Do you want me to warm something to eat up for you? [If he is upset at how late Waver is, Diarmuid doesn't show it. Not only is he used to it, but he is also grateful that they aren't on the run right now and that the only thing that has kept Waver away is his own obsessive need to work. Things...could be much worse.]
[Diarmuid shakes his head, getting up and setting the book on the coffee table. He then walks over to Waver, putting an arm around his shoulders and directing him toward the couch.]
Of course not. I would rather you tell me what is wrong. You look terrible. Did something happen? Don't tell me Eskardos screwed up another experiment...
No, I'm...I'm fine, actually. I think I'm just in fucking shock.
Waver shook his head and sat down, trying to regain some level of composure.]
After my last lecture, I went to see about submitting my thesis--I figured that the worst case scenario was getting laughed out of the room, god knows I've been there before. But I spent some time arguing the point--that's what took so long--and I guess it...it looks like they might actually publish it like all the other ones I've written.
Good! It's about time those old fools started really listening to you! [Diarmuid's worried look melts away into something slightly annoyed, but also very happy.]
You have done more than most of them ever hope to. Obviously, you are doing something right. Quieting you and ignoring you only hurts their chances of survival in the future. They need to focus on making themselves stronger, not clinging to old outdated ideas so much.
Either that or I've always been insane. It's hard to tell.
[Waver sighed, shaking his head.]
On my way home, I was thinking...do you realize how much this stupid thesis of mine actually indirectly caused? If I hadn't been laughed out of the lecture hall that day, I wouldn't have walked into that courier and ended up stealing that stupid package.
[Beat.]
...And in hindsight I should check if the Clock Tower's mailing system is a little more secure now.
No, Mo Stór, I would be more worried if you were not working. It's what you do and part of what makes you happy. Why do you think I have not fought harder to get you to work less? After all we have been through, I want you to do what you want to do. [Though, he wouldn't mind having more time with Waver now that the Grail has been dismantled, but...]
