[Despite being only one word, there is a great deal of emotion in it. It's snarled, it's yelled and yet, it's still very soft and musical in nature.]

I only have one brother. Diarmuid. My Little Hawk. My....I want my brother...

[And the anger slides away that fast into grief, into longing, into need. He means no insult, but his brother is everything to him. Beloved in life, sought after in death. Linked forever in a way others can't even begin to imagine.]

Can we go to my brother?

[He recoils at Berserker's extreme reaction.]

Uh...okay?

[It takes only a few seconds for him to regain that smile.]

Come on. let's find your brother. He should be at Professor Velvet's house!

[When Flatt agrees to take him to see his brother, Berserker's whole attitude changes again very quickly. He smiles, the best he can, child-like glee entering his eyes.]

We can go? We really can? This...Professor Velvet won't mind? He will let me see my brother? Oh...

[Suddenly, the light goes out of Berserker's eyes.]

Perhaps...my brother will not wish to see me after...

Oh come on, brothers always wanna see each other! Even if you guys fought, this is the perfect time for you to apologize, isn't it?

[Berserker shakes his head, perhaps a little too hard considering how his hair goes flying.]

We never fought! It is not that. It is...

[His eyes grow distant and for a moment, their slits widen in a very odd way.]

I was forced to kill him and he me. It...is not how things should have ended...

...That...really sad.

B-but this is like your second chance! So long as you don't kill each other again!

[There is a great deal of conviction and certainty in his voice, though it fades and fear fills his eyes after a moment.]

You...won't make me hurt him, will you?

No, of course not.

[He gives Berserker a gentle smile.]

He's a nice guy. I'd never hurt him.

[A look of relief floods Berserker's face.]

And maybe...we can all go do those things you suggested? Eat and all of that? My brother...probably never did the things a child should do either. He started to train to be a knight so young...

We should! Though Diarmuid is pretty busy tending to Professor Violet and all. He's professor's most important friend, you know.

[For a moment, something that looks very much like jealousy passes across Berserker's eyes. The look lasts only a short time, though there is still a bit of it underlying the curiosity in his words.]

'Most important friend?'

Well, yeah. Professor Velvet doesn't have many friends, and Diarmuid is the one he's around the most.

Why doesn't he have many friends? Is he a bad man? Does he make my brother stay with him?

Nah, he's not bad. He's just really grouchy and really busy. I dunno if he makes Diarmuid stay with him. Diarmuid just stays with him a lot. But then again, he doesn't even let me stay with him all the time.

My brother...is very loyal to those he cares about...

[Did that mean his brother stayed with this man out of love? Of course, his brother was always kind to people. Even those who didn't deserve it. Yet...if this man let no other stay with him all the time, did that mean he actually valued his brother's loyalty?]

We will meet them. And I will judge if he is worthy of my brother. If not...

[Well, if not, things will probably get very messy, very quickly. After all, he is a Berserker...]

Ah...don't kill him, please. He's my only teacher and I dunno if I can find another one.

[Berserker peers at Flatt out of the corners of his eyes.]

How else will we free my brother if he is holding him unjustly?

[There is disbelief in his voice.]

My brother is not some trinket to be wagered! He is a hero!

Yeah, I know. But look at it this way. If Professor Velvet values him more than that, you wouldn't have to beat anyone up, right?

Perhaps...

[Berserker seems reluctant to agree that anyone might value his brother as much as he does, but he will not rule it out since it would make his brother happy to be loved so.]

I will have to speak with both him and my brother before I make my decision.

Then...I guess we should start out now.

[He holds a hand out to Berserker.]

Come on. I'll hold on to you so you won't get lost.

[Bersreker gives Flatt's hand a curious look. For a moment, a memory flashes into his mind--his brother, reaching out to him in a similar way, like no one else ever did.

A slight smile crosses his face and he takes Flatt's hand, careful not to hurt him with his claws.]

Yes, lets go...

[Holding Berserker's hand, Flatt steps out of his room, pulling Berserker along the halls and stairs of the dorm, as well as finally out into the foggy London air.]

[It's been a couple of days now since Berserker was reunited with his brother. He is still unsure if his Master's teacher is good enough for Diarmuid, but Diarmuid had requested Berserker give Waver time, and he isn't about to question a request from his brother.

At the moment, he's waiting for Flatt to get back from class so they can go and do something. He's not sure what, but his brother had said they should go out and do things. Berserker wanted to go out with Diarmuid and see these things, but he also understands that his brother has responsibilities he must attend to.

It's how it always was back home and still Diarmuid had always found time for him. He knows his brother will do so now too just so long as he is patient.

So, right now he waits and idly sorts through one of the many piles that are in Flatt's room. Who knows what he will find today?]
