[Diarmuid gives his brother a wide smile.]

You can show me just how much your skills have grown.

[He nods.]

Just you wait! I'll beat you this time! I'm already beating warriors who're taller than me!

[Diarmuid laughs softly. Though he knows it's not likely to happen, he doesn't want to discourage his brother either.]

We will see, mighty warrior. First, finish your breakfast.

[beforetights]

[He goes back to eating, only this time he eats too quickly, so he chokes and winds up coughing.]

Okay, I think I'm done!

Slowly, brother.

[Diarmuid gives him a stern look.]

We can't practice if you choke. Besides, before we practice we have to clean up the things from breakfast.

[beforetights]

Oh. Cleanup work.

[He pouts.]

Do we have to? I already cleaned the living room!

We cannot just leave things sit, brother. It is better to clean up right away and not leave things for later.

[Diarmuid finishes his food and then stands to gather up their plates.]

You don't have to help me, since I am grateful for the cleaning you have already done, but we will be able to start practicing faster if you do.

[beforetights]

Mm...

[He has to think for a moment.]

Alright! I'll lead the cleanup, since I'm the one taking care of you today!

[He starts piling things into the sink.]

[Diarmuid smiles at his brother, gently.]

All right, but let me help you. The work will go more quickly with two.

[beforetights]

Hm...you can wash the big dishes and the pans. I'll wash the small dishes.

[He turns on the water, though he turns on a little too much, sending water spraying everywhere.]

Careful!

[Diarmuid quickly turns the water down.]

Why don't you let me handle that? I need a big strong boy who can dry the dishes. Would you be willing to do that for me?

[beforetights]

Yes, I would! Very much so.

[He grabs the dish rag from off its hook and reaches his hand out.]

Just give it over to me when you're done washing.

Thank you.

[Diarmuid gives his brother a grateful smile, before setting to work on the first dishes.]

Just set them on the table when you are done, and we will put them all away once everything is clean.

I will.

[A pause.]

How high do you think we can stack the dishes this time?

[thepursued]

I think we had better not stack them very high at all.

[Diarmuid turns to hand a dish to his brother for drying.]

If they fall, we will have to spend extra time cleaning up before we go to practice.

[beforetights]

[He nods and polishes the dish until it's dry and sparkling.]

Plus we'd need to buy new dishes, and we can't rely on our credit cards all the time.

[Now that he's older, he knows more about credit cards and money management.]

That is right. Just because this money is given to us, that doesn't mean we should use it without care.

[Diarmuid gives his brother a proud look before handing him the next dish.]

[He puts aside the finished dish and takes the second one.]

The people here are always so kind to us! And they remember us so well even though we've changed.

[thepursued]

[Diarmuid nods, though is quiet for a moment as he scrubs at a pan, Once he's done, he rinses the pan and waits for his brother to be ready for it.]

Yes. They are an odd sort of family for us, aren't they? One separate from the ones we have back home.

[beforetights]

Mm-hm. We're lucky. We both get to have two families.

...Can you tell me a bit about your family again?

[He and Diarmuid had swapped stories ever since they came back into the city and found each other again. But he never gets tired of his brother's stories.]

I can if you would like me to.

[Diarmuid holds the pan out for his brother to take.]

You know me and stories. Is there something specific you would like me to tell you about this time?

Tell me about your Lord! He seems to be a very strong hero, just like Uncle! Can you tell me about the times you went on adventures together?

[thepursued]

[Diarmuid laughs softly.]

Of course, I can if that is what you want to hear about. Have I told you about the time I helped save my Lord and several of our fellows from the traitorous Miodac and his cursed home?

[beforetights]

You might have! But I don't remember which one Miodac was. So tell me again?

[thepursued]

Of course.

[Diarmuid holds out another dish for his brother before starting into his story.]

Miodac once challenged my Lord to a game of riddles, but my Lord is a very wise man. Even without accessing his thumb of knowledge, he was able to easily answer the riddles. They were not very hard from what I heard later. One was even about my father who my Lord knew very well. This angered Miodac who wished to prove himself greater than my Lord. However, he hid this anger and one night invited my Lord and several of our fellows to dine at his home. The feast he laid was a great one, but it was also a trap.
